Just outside the town centre, Dragon’s Den play centre is sure to keep the kids entertained with a multi-level play frame and go-karting. Suitable for all kids up to age 11.
Just outside the town centre, this free museum is located in a beautiful historic building, which has recently undergone major restoration. Alongside the opulent, decorated rooms of the castle, visitors can discover exhibitions on natural history, archaeology and social history, while children can enjoy specialised activities and the large new play area. The surrounding park is also free and provides a beautiful spot to enjoy a picnic or a walk.
Keighley and Worth Valley Railway
This line, running steam and diesel engines through spectacular Yorkshire scenery, is a local jewel. All ages will appreciate the vintage carriages, beautiful views, and the chance to travel back in time with the most elegant means of transport. The line encompasses the villages of Haworth, Oxenhope and Oakworth, allowing access to moorland walks and the world-renowned Bronte Parsonage Museum.
The Leisure Centre
Children of all ages will love the 40m waterslide and plunge pool at Keighley Leisure Centre. The centre also offers a wide range of sporting activities and classes, with special programmes of events during school holidays.
The STAR Centre in Keighley encourages youngsters to be more engaged in science by exploring the wonders of space. With Mission Control simulations, the chance to drive a planetary rover, and to explore the universe in the Cosmodome, this is a unique and engaging experience. Available to school groups and to voluntary organisations such as Brownies or Scouts.
Keighley library, held in a beautiful Victorian building in the town centre, offers a great range of children’s reads as well as regular sessions and activities for young children.
