Keighley celebrated a sunny Bank Holiday and Team GB’s sporting success in style on Saturday with sporty entertainment all day in the town centre, hosted by Keighley BID.

As we say goodbye to our indoor beach and pack up the buckets and spades, we had one last party to mark the end of the summer! With free face-painting, balloon modelling and caricatures, kids (and a few grown-ups!), were getting into the spirit of things in the Airedale Shopping Centre.

Outside, the Keighley Bus Museum Trust were back again with their beautiful vintage buses. This time parked up around and about town was their open top bus complete with an old-fashioned jazz band to serenade shoppers.

The bus also featured our new #keighleyindependents banners, encouraging shoppers to think local and support Keighley businesses! Keep an eye out for the #keighleyindependents sign around town in the future.

Across town, the team from Yellow Bus Events were entertaining the punters with their antics, from giant golfers and cricketers, to cheerleaders and a pedalo.

Thanks to everyone who came along and enjoyed the beach this summer. Join us again on Saturday 24th September, for our next event in Keighley town centre. Check our Facebook page, Discover Keighley, or our What's On page, for further info on future events.
