A Cycle Fun Day was held this Saturday, April 29th, in Keighley Town centre as part of the region’s Tour de Yorkshire celebrations.
Church Green was transformed into a bike stunt arena, with visitors enjoying the performances by stunt team 3sixty. A giant yellow American school bus stood next to the church, providing a backdrop for more tricks and fun with a unicycle show.
Youngsters had the chance to get involved, with the bike team providing one-to-one training to those brave enough to have a go! There was also flag-making for the Tour de Yorkshire, with families creating designs based on the race and the region to wave the following day.
The event was organised by Keighley BID with the help of the Yellow Bus Events team. BID manager Paul Howard said, “Keighley has benefited from two high profile events this April, with the Flying Scotsman visit and the Tour de Yorkshire. The BID has supported these opportunities with events in the town centre, on Cavendish Street and Church Green. We’ve been really lucky with the weather and the support from businesses and the public has been fantastic. We look forward to welcoming visitors to the town for many more events this summer.”
The BID’s next event will take place on Saturday 27th May, with free children’s theatre workshops all day in the Airedale Shopping Centre.
