On Tuesday 11th October the new Keighley Business Club held their launch event at Keighley College, with special guest speaker Will Holman, the Deputy Agent for the Bank of England in Yorkshire and Humber.
The evening kicked off with food and the chance to network, followed by an introduction from Heather Whitehead and Chris Stott of Keighley College. There was a great show of local businesses of all sizes and from all sectors. Will’s talk, on the Bank’s post-Brexit forecasts and policies, was well received and made for a lively discussion afterwards over tea and cake.
Steve McGevor, of Stirk Lambert & Co, closed the meeting. He recommended the college’s brilliant conference facilities, and looks forward to many more friendly meetings where local businesses can build stronger links.
Hayfield Robinson and Small Office Supplies were two of the many businesses that took to social media to praise the event, with the beautiful cakes provided by The Cake’Ole Keighley proving particularly popular.
Powered by the Keighley BID, the new business club will host large events on a quarterly basis, with informal networking evenings held monthly, helping to encourage greater cooperation between local businesses. Our next meeting will be a drinks evening in November. Sign up to the mailing list through email@example.com.
Paul Howard, the BID manager, said, “We’d like to thank the many businesses who have supported this new venture. The Business Club has got off to a fantastic start and we hope this is the beginning of many more great things to come.”
