Independent businesses and shoppers in Keighley town centre once again reaped the benefits of the bi-annual Keighley Independents Campaign.
With a total prize fund of £1500, spread across 8 individual prizes, lucky shoppers were in with a chance of winning big, by simply collecting 3 stamps available from more than 80 participating retailers, in the town centre.
Winning the top prize of £750 were Mr and Mrs Yates, “I was quite surprised at winning, I’ve not won anything before so it’s great, just in time for Christmas too.”, said Mr Yates. Mr and Mrs Yates have already been shopping for new furnishings at Rooms on Hanover Street and are looking forward to spending the remaining windfall.
The campaign was masterminded by Keighley BID in order to showcase the wide range of unique, independent businesses in the town centre. BID Manager, Paul Howard said: “We were delighted by the amount of businesses taking part, with more than 80 independent retailers doing their bit to push the campaign. There is so much on offer in Keighley town centre and many hidden gems. This campaign is to encourage businesses and shoppers to explore more of their town centre”
Geoff Travers of Personal Ice commented: “The campaign is an amazing promotion, we love getting involved. It was only in July that one of our customers won the top prize.”
Andrew Foster of Rooms Furniture said: “We’re really happy that the top prize winner chose Rooms to spend some of their winnings. The campaign highlights the varying range of independent businesses in the town centre and it’s great that we can help our loyal customers by taking part in events such as this”.
